CAR CRASH: Young Men Killed in Crash
March 24, 2010
Los Angeles – Two young men, aged 19 and 18, died after their vehicle swerved off an embankment near the 605 Freeway and became airborne before it landed upside down late Tuesday night, authorities said.
The unidentified men were reportedly travelling in their northbound Nissan Xterra along 5 Freeway at around 11:30 p.m. when they suddenly veered onto the shoulder lanes.
Their vehicle hit a couple of trees and shrubs before it veered into a raised embankment and went airborne. The vehicle then landed on its roof.
The 18-year-old driver of the vehicle was almost ejected in the crash while his 19-year-old passenger was thrown off the vehicle. Both men died on the scene.
Authorities are yet to determine factors that caused the crash.
