PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT: Young Driver Killed after Getting Hit in Highway 110 Secondary Accident

Los Angeles- A motorist died after a SUV struck him while walking out of his crashed vehicle at 110 Freeway north of Century Boulevard on Friday at 1:40 a.m.
According to Los Angeles police reports, Bernabe Basurto, 19 years old, was driving his car northbound of 110 Freeway when he collided with another vehicle. He was able to get out of his smashed auto, but was later struck by an oncoming SUV. He was pronounced dead minutes after medical attempts failed.
The SUV driver was traversing the number 3 lane when he saw the accident scene. He shifted to number 2 lane to avoid crashing onto the vehicles, but end up hitting Basurto, reports said.
Paramedics transported the 60-year-old Mazda Tribute driver to local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Authorities are still investigating the details on the cause of accident.
