CAR ACCIDENT: Wrestler Randy Savage's Heart Attack Caused the Car Crash
July 1,2011
Los Angeles--The St. Petersburg Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed that Randy 'Macho Man" Savage died of heart attack, and not from injuries caused by his car accident.
The Coroner's Office clarified that heart failure is Savage's official cause of death. The Wrestling Superstar sustained only bruises and minor cuts from the single car crash.
According to reports, the 58-year-old wrestler became unresponsive behind the wheels while traveling in Florida on May. His Jeep Wrangler swerved and crashed onto a tree. His passenger, Lynn Salvage, sustained minor injuries. The one-year couple was both wearing seatbelt at the time of accident.
Authorities found no evidence of alcohol or drugs as factor in the crash.
'Macho Man' rose to popularity when he performed at World Wrestling Federation (WWF) shows in the 1980s. He also posed for Slim-Jim advertisements and has since been known for his tagline, "Ooh yeah!"
