PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT: Workers Die in Crash while Changing Tire
November 28, 2010
Los Angeles – A man died at the scene of the crash while his co-worker was declared dead at a hospital after they were struck by an out-of-control vehicle while they were changing a tire in Irwindale Saturday morning, reports said.
Reports indicate that a 43-year-old Azusa man, Pedro Pedroza, was with his co-worker, 49-year-old Ricardo Beltran of West Covina, when they were hit by a Taurus around 11 am along the southbound lanes of 605 Freeway.
The driver of the Taurus reportedly lost control of the vehicle after a car suddenly shifted lanes in front of him. The Taurus was said to be going around 70 mph in the freeway that has a 65 mph speed limit.
Pedroza died at the scene while Beltran was airlifted to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
