CAR CRASH: Woman Killed after Crashing into Border Patrol Car in Otay Mesa

Otay Mesa – An unidentified San Diego woman died after she lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a marked Border Patrol car driven by an agent near Lower Otay Reservoir Wednesday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash in South County was reported at around 8am along Otay Lakes Road.
Reports indicate that the woman was riding a 1992 Nissan Maxima along the eastbound lanes when she drifted while on a curve and skidded sideways to the opposite lanes.
The woman was broadsided by one of two marked patrol cars driven by on-duty Border Patrol agents.
The woman, who is between 30 to 40 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene while the Border Patrol agent was treated for minor injuries at a hospital.
The road was closed as authorities investigated the accident. The woman’s identity was not immediately released pending family notification.
