DUI-RELATED CAR CRASH: Woman died in Bakersfield crash, DUI accident

Los Angeles - A woman died after a DUI accident in Bakersfield on Wednesday at 10:22 p.m.
Perla Gonzalez, 28 years old, died instantly after a vehicular crash on Kentucky Street. Gonzalez was a passenger of Cherrie Marie Lopez, 19 years old, along with a one-year-old Jayden Gonzalez.
Police said Lopez was traversing Mount Vernon Avenue when a car eastbound on Kentucky Street failed to stop, and hit her vehicle. The two vehicles hurled over the median and into Mt. Vernon northbound lane.
The driver of the car was identified as Marcus Trevino, 23 years old, and was cited for DUI and Gross Vehicular Manslaughter, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports.
Nearby residents were able to rescue the baby and driver, Lopez. Both sustained major injuries and were rushed to Kern Medical center.
CHP officers were investigating the details of the accident.
