Windsor Loses Leg after Pedestrian Accident
November 14, 2009
Windsor – A 36-year-old woman remains in critical condition with severe injuries to both legs after a pedestrian accident in Windsor this weekend.
The victim was identified as Windsor resident Janine Faloni.
According to reports, the collision occurred at about 10:15 am when a GMC Yukon jumped a curb and pinned Faloni against a wide support post in the sidewalk of the Raley’s Shopping Center in Lakewood Drive.
The accident broke Faloni’s right femur and her lower left leg had to be amputated after being crushed from the knee down.
Faloni had undergone two surgeries already. She remains in Memorial’s Intensive Care unit.
The driver of the SUV, Conrado Feranandez, 80, was not injured and has cooperated fully with Windsor Police.
Windsor Police are now investigating the cause of the accident to know if citations or other actions can be filed against Fernandez.
