March 29, 2011
Huntington Beach – A worker was found dead after being electrocuted while cleaning the windows of a medical office building Tuesday morning, authorities said.
According to reports, the unidentified man was cleaning the window of a three-story building at Beach Boulevard around 6:30 am when the metal pole he was using came into contact with a 12,000-volt power line above him.
The man was said to be using a metal rod with a brush and water hose attachment to clean windows when he appeared to have accidentally tapped a power line above him while trying to work around a tree.
His body was found by firefighters along a sidewalk.
The worker’s identity is yet to be released pending family notification.
