TRAIN ACCIDENT: Ventura County train collision kills pickup driver

Moorpark – A pickup driver suffered from fatal injuries after his pickup truck collided with an Amtrak train in Ventura County.

According to Amtrak spokesperson Vernae Graham, the Pacific Surfliner crashed into the track at a crossing in Moorpark, at around 10:30, Monday morning.

The man who was in his 40’s was still breathing when he was pulled out of the Toyota Tundra wreckage shortly after the collision, but he died at the scene said CHP office supervisor Sherri Wilson.

Nobody was injured in the train, though three other trains were stranded for almost one and a half hours.
