TRUCK ACCIDENT: Truck trailer crash fire injures man, causes 7-hr closure
September 16, 2010
Los Angeles - A truck trailer crashed and caught fire at 101 Freeway, causing a 7-hour closure on northbound and southbound lanes on Thursday.
A big rig lost control on the wheels and crashed onto 101 North center divider, near Beaudry Avenue. Its load started to catch fire and scatter debris on the freeway, reports said.
Firefighters doused the fire and transported the driver to a nearby hospital. Details on his injuries have remained undisclosed.
Los Angeles City Fire officers found the load as highly flammable and had to clear dispersed debris on the freeway. Police authorities reopened northbound and southbound lanes after seven hours.
Police authorities are still investigating the details on the cause of accident.
