TRUCK ACCIDENT: Truck overturns on Interstate 10, Killing 40 Cows

Reedlands - At least 40 cows were killed when its carrier overturned at Interstate 10 on Thursday.

The truck was carrying a total of 160 cows when it flipped over on Redlands roadway.

Rescuers had to cut off the top of the carrier to pull out the rest of the cows as loud moos were heard on the road, California Highway Patrol officials said.

Veterinarians administered medical treatment to the live animals, while the dead cows were removed, according to San Bernardino County Animal Control Chief Brian Cronin.

The driver sustained minor injuries in the single truck accident. Police officers are still investigating the cause of the accident.
