PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT: Tracy Woman dies in Highway 99 accident
March 9, 2010
Manteca – A 28-year-old Tracy woman was killed after she was struck by a vehicle on Highway 99, south of Yosemite Avenue in Manteca, late Monday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was walking and running along the highway’s southbound lanes when she went into the path of a vehicle at about 11:30 p.m. She immediately died at the scene.
The name of the woman is still withheld by the authorities pending notification of her relatives.
CHP says the victim might have been under alcohol or drug influence that may have contributed to her decision to run on the highway. Further investigation is on-going.
