ANIMAL ATTACK INCIDENT: Tierrasanta Toddler Attacked by Family’s Dog, Dies
July 31, 2010
San Diego – A two-year-old boy died from injuries he sustained after being attacked by the family’s dog inside his home in a military housing area in Tierrasanta late Saturday morning, reports said.
Aaron Carlson was said to be with his siblings in an upstairs bedroom in their house on Lofberg Street at about 11:30 am when the accident occurred. The children’s mother was said to be sleeping and was awakened by her 7-year-old daughter when the boy was mauled by the family’s German shepherd.
The boy was taken to Rady Children’s Hospital where he later succumbed to injuries.
Reports show the family owned the dog for about six months and there were no other similar incidents prior to the attack.
Authorities said that there will likely be no criminal charges to be filed with regards to the accident.
