October 21, 2011

Sacramento - The state Department of Public Health has warned consumers against buying and eating bagged spinach grown by Salinas-based Taylor Farms Retail after a package of spinach were found positive for salmonella.

State health officials said the contaminated package was found in Washington but the products were distributed in California and several other states.

Health officials said they will continue with their investigations to determine the extent of contamination and may issue a recall of the contaminated products, when necessary.
