Star Trek Actor in Car Accident
July 14, 2009
West Los Angeles – Actor Levar Burton who played Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge in Star Trek: The Next Generation was involved in a five-vehicle collision in Los Angeles Monday night, police said.
According to detective Acosta, Burton was driving his 2006 Mercedes down on Beverly Boulevard in West LA when a 74-year-old woman who was driving a 2006 Scion turned left in front of him.
The collision, which occurred at about 7:40 p.m., led Burton’s car to hit a parked car which resulted in a chain reaction that damaged two more parked vehicles.
Acosta added that both drivers complained of pain and was sent at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for examination but both have already been released.
Nobody was ticketed for the incident.
Burton, 52, is best known for his role in the miniseries “Roots” and as the “blind” Lt. Commander in Star Trek: The Next Generation.
