VEHICLE COLLISION: Speeding Motorcyclist Dies in Collision While Fleeing from CHP Officers

September 1, 2010

Mission Viejo - A speeding motorcyclist died after colliding with a Ford Explorer while he was trying to flee from California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers along the (5) Freeway, reports said.

Authorities have identified the motorcyclist as Javan Booth, 34, from Irvine.

Investigations showed that an officer tried to stop Booth’s vehicle after he was seen moving near Cristianitos Road at a speed of more than 100 mph. However, he refused to stop and tried to flee.

Reports said he was heading north when he crashed into a SUV near La Paz. He then swerved off the freeway and was ejected from the motorcycle.

Booth was announced dead at the accident area. Meanwhile, all of the SUV occupants were uninjured.
