VEHICLE COLLISION: Sleepy Teen Driver Hits Two Vehicles in Contra Costa County
May 10, 2011
Contra Costa- An 18-year-old male driver, from Pleasant Hill, has collided with at least two vehicles after he fell asleep while driving his Toyota Camry, said California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers.
According to reports, the teen driver was moving east along Balfour Road, east of Deer Valley Road, when he suddenly fell asleep. His vehicle moved into the westbound lane and hit a Toyota Tundra, which then veered off the road and rolled over. The sleeping teen driver continued to move against the traffic, causing him to collide head-on with a Toyota Tacoma truck.
According to reports, the Tacoma and Camry drivers were both taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek to be treated for minor injuries.
