TRUCK ACCIDENT: Salinas man Dies in Highway 101 Ford accident

San Jose - A Salinas man died after a pickup truck accident on south of Highway 101 near San Jose on Monday.

Eric Scott Croci (27) was driving a 1995 Ford Ranger when he hit a guardrail and smashed onto a post at Highway 85 interchange at 11:30 p.m.

Croci sustained fatal injuries on his chest and died minutes after the crash, reports said.

A 26-year-old passenger, Stacy Davison, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Santa Clara County Medical hospital. She sustained pelvic and right eye fracture and face lacerations.

Croci was not wearing seatbelt at the time of accident, while Davison was able to wear one, reports said.

California Highway Patrol officers are still investigating if alcohol intoxication was the cause of the accident.
