MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT: SDPD Officer Runs Red Light, Dies after Colliding with Truck

San Diego - An off-duty San Diego Police Department (SDPD) officer on a motorcycle died after he failed to stop on a red light, causing him to collide with a truck, said authorities.
According to reports, the officer was identified as Christopher Blakeley, 26, from Chula Vista. He was traveling west along Main Street at Hollister Street when his Ducati broadsided the southbound truck at around 9:41 p.m.
The truck overturned as a result of the impact.
Reports said Blakely died at the accident area minutes after the collision occurred. Meanwhile, two truck occupants sustained minor injuries.
