ROLLOVER ACCIDENT: Rollover crash takes teenager’s life

Rancho Cordova – White Rock Road was closed for a few hours after a rollover accident that left a teenager dead occurred Thursday morning.

The teen was driving a pick-up track along the westbound lane of the road when the truck drifted off the road. The driver overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle, which made it to roll over several times. The accident happened around 6:30 a.m.

According to Rancho Cordova police, the victim’s mother was driving in a separate vehicle ahead of the teen. It took some time before she realized that her son was no longer behind her.

The teen was pronounced dead on the scene. Driver error was found to be the cause of the accident.

White Rock Road was closed between Grant Line Road and Luyung Drive while investigation was going on. It was reopened around 11:30 a.m.
