ROAD SAFETY: Residents Request for Speed Bumps after Maple Avenue Crash
October 11, 2011
Dallas- Residents near Maple Avenue at Springs Road have requested for speed bumps after a multiple vehicle crash on Monday.
According to reports, residents have submitted their speed bumps request to city officials after a driver hits three parked vehicles on the side of Maple Avenue at 12:30 p.m.
The 63-year-old driver was approaching the northbound lane when he lost control of the wheels and struck the vehicles. Police officers commented that the motorist might have been moving at high speed when the crash occurred, reports said.
A homeowner commented that the Springs Road has 25 mph speed limit, but was plagued with fast moving vehicles especially during rush hours. The residents' representative plans to submit another request for speed bumps this week to prevent speed-related accidents.
