Preschool Crash Leaves Children Injured, One Critical
May 28, 2009
Huntington Beach – A 3-year-old child remains to be in critical condition and needs to undergo immediate surgery after he was caught under a car that crashed into his preschool, authorities said Thursday.
The accident happened in Childtime preschool at around 7:45 a.m. when a woman, bringing a child to the preschool, unintentionally crashed her red BMW into the building.
Rescuers say the car was more than halfway through the building when they got the child out under the BMW.
Reports indicate that at least two other children suffered major injuries while another three sustained minor injuries.
All injured children are said to be less than 5 years old. They were taken to a hospital where they received treatments for their injuries.
Police will be conducting further investigations regarding the accident to know the reason and factors that led to the crash.
