MULTIPLE CAR CRASH: Pile-up shuts down Hollywood Freeway

July 25, 2010

Hollywood – A two-car crash on the southbound lane of Hollywood (101) Freeway Sunday morning slowly turned into a pile-up.

The accident occurred around 2 a.m. near Cahuenga Boulevard after a motorist lost control and hit the median near Highland off-ramp. It was hit by another vehicle, which then sparked a chain reaction of crashes.

According to the CHP, the pile-up involved nine vehicles which all tried to avoid the wreck, but only three were damaged. A pedestrian may have also been involved.

LA Fire Department Capt. Rick McClure said four people suffered only minor injuries. The southbound lane of 101 Cahuenga to 170 Freeway was shut down until around 3:30 a.m. due to the accident.
