PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT: Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Salinas SUV Accident

Salinas - A 52-year-old man suffered serious injuries after a Sport Utility vehicle hit him at Williams Road on Wednesday at 8 pm.

The pedestrian was crossing Williams Road near East Market Street when a SUV struck him. The SUV driver was heading northbound and was driving at 35 mph speed rate at the time of accident, according to police reports.

Reports said that the man suffered serious head injuries as he slammed on the windshield and rolled off the vehicle's roof. Paramedics arrived at the scene shortly, and rescuers airlifted him to a San Francisco Bay Area hospital.

Police officers are still investigating the details on the cause of accident.
