TRAIN ACCIDENT: Pedestrian Dies after Metrolink Train Crash

Riverside- A pedestrian has died after a westbound Metrolink train struck him near Ivy Street and Monterey Road on Thursday at 5:41 a.m.

According to reports, the man was walking along the tracks when the Metrolink train hit him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

The accident caused delays on the 91 and Inland Empire lines. Authorities resumed Metrolink train operations at 7:15 a.m.

Riverside police officers commented that the man must have been a transient. Details on the cause of accident are still under investigation.
