VEHICLE CRASH: Passenger in Stalled Vehicle Dies in Crash
April 13, 2011
San Diego – A woman believed to be around 40-50 years old was pronounced dead at the scene after a Dodge sedan crashed into a stalled Toyota in Lincoln Park Wednesday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
According to reports, the woman was inside the Toyota vehicle, which remained stationary for unknown reasons, along the No.2 lane of the southbound Interstate 805 when it was hit by a Dodge sedan around 6:30 am.
The driver of the brown Dodge was said to be changing lanes along Market Street when he hit the stalled Toyota.
The female driver of the Toyota was taken to a hospital along with the 6-year-old passenger of the Dodge who reportedly had a contusion. The other passenger of the Dodge, a 2-year-old, as well as the driver appeared to be uninjured.
Authorities closed down all lanes of the freeway, except for one, for at least two hours as they investigate the accident.
