BOATING ACCIDENT: Newark Man Dies in Jet Ski Accident

Los Angeles- A resident of Newark has died after a jet ski accident on Pyramid Lake on Saturday at 1:40 p.m.

According to reports, Edgardo Gabriel Almaraz was riding his WaveRunner when a 20-foot ski boat crashed into it.

Almaraz was motionless after the crash while the other ski boat operator was able to hold his head above water. A U.S. Coast Guard arrived and took the two men to shore, reports said.

Rescuers arrived and gave Almaraz CPR, but he succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:22 p.m.

Los Angeles police officers commented that Almaraz turned right in front of the ski boat when the collision occurred. Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
