MULTI-VEHICLE CRASH: Multiple Car Crash on Highway 99 Injures Five
January 5, 2011
French Camp – At least five people suffered injuries after a three-car crash on northbound Highway 99 Tuesday morning, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Henrik Bailey.
The accident occurred at around 9:45 am when Danilo Santos, 34, lost control of his 2000 Ford Mustang as he reached the top of the French Camp Road onramp.
The Mustang then collided with a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox on the right lane, causing the sports utility vehicle to get pushed into the left lane. Finally, a 1996 Toyota RAV4 struck the Chevrolet.
Santos was not injured, but an occupant of the Chevrolet sustained facial lacerations and another passenger, who is around 6 years old, possibly suffered a broken leg.
Both were not wearing their seat belts when the accident happened, according to Bailey. The victims were taken to several hospitals.
Highway 99 was shut down for almost an hour due to the accident.
