HEAD-ON COLLISION: Motorcyclist Dies in Madera County Head-On Collision
December 12, 2010
Madera County - A 57-year-old Clovis motorcyclist died after colliding head-on with a drunken driver along Highway 41 near Avenue 15, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers said.
The man was moving southbound when his 2006 Suzuki motorcycle was hit by a 2006 Toyota Sienna being driven by Bruce David Faux, 49, of Coarsegold.
According to authorities, visibility at the scene was around 200 to 500 feet due to the fog.
The drunken driver was trying to move past another vehicle at the time of the accident.
Reports said the motorcyclist and his passenger Wilma Tucker, 53, of Fresno were both ejected from the vehicle.
Tucker was rushed to Community Regional Center to be treated for major injuries. She is now under a critical condition.
Meanwhile, Faux sustained minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter, felony DUI causing death, and second-degree murder.
Authorities determined that the driver was drunk at the time of the accident.
