MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT: Motorcycle Smashes into Parked Trailer, Biker Killed
March 17, 2010
Foresthill – A 28-year-old Foresthill motorcycle rider suffered fatal injuries when he failed to notice a parked trailer and crashed into it in Foresthill's Harrison Street near Soap Street, 11:50 p.m. Tuesday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the Yamaha off-road motorcycle the man was driving had no headlights, and there were also no streetlights on the road.
Travelling at about 55 mph, the motorbike hit the trailer head-on, sending the driver off the bike into the trailer.
The rider was not wearing a helmet when the accident happened. He suffered fatal head, abdomen and leg injuries and died at the scene.
The name of the motorcyclist was not immediately disclosed.
The CHP said the trailer was legally park and had enough reflectors.
