Mislabeled Chicken Broth Led to Recall
December 7, 2008
Minnesota – Del Monte Foods Co has made a voluntary recall of its own product, the College Inn No MSG Chicken Broth, for being mislabeled. The company made the announcement during the weekend, although no reports of complaints against the product was reported.
According to reports, the chicken broth had wheat allergen and was not properly labeled. It also had monosodium glutamate (MSG) but the label claimed it did not contain any. The products include individual 14.5 ounce cans of College Inn No MSG Chicken Broth with code dates UPC 2400032230.
Other College Inn Chicken Broth products however were not affected by the product recall. Consumers may return the unused contents of the products or receive a full refund. They can contact the College Inn Consumer Hotline at 1-800-552-7684.
