MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT: Marine Dies in Motorcycle Crash
April 16, 2011
Escondido – The San Diego Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed that the motorcyclist who died in a high-speed accident Saturday afternoon was a marine.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the 21-year-old U.S. Marine on active duty was heading east on state Route 78 around 4:20 pm when he sped up to take over a vehicle before the lanes merged.
The motorcyclist lost control over his vehicle that was going about 85 to 100 mph speed as it veered off the freeway.
The unidentified Marine was thrown from his motorcycle and witnesses found him in the bushes.
He was taken to Palomar Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
