Man Killed by Freight Train

Loma Linda, California - A man sitting on rail tracks was killed on Tuesday after a cargo train hit him and dragged his body few feet away, according to authorities.

In a police report, the train’s engineer saw Johnny Rogers, 45, sitting on the tracks at around 1:15 am, prompting him to initiate an emergency stop. But with the weight and speed of the train, it was impossible to immediately stop, the engineer said.

Meanwhile, authorities are conducting an investigation to identify the cause of accident and why Rogers did not hear the sirens from the train.
