Man Killed by Caltrain in San Jose

July 22, 2009

San Jose, California - A man died when he attempted to cross a railway but failed to see the incoming Caltrain on Wednesday night, according to authorities.

Caltrain spokeswoman said the accident happened around 6:20 pm on the south of Blossom Hill near Great Oaks Boulevard and Highway 85.

According to police reports, no train passenger has sustained injury after the accident.

In May, the city government of Riverside posted more warning signs to different railroad crossings following the death of a 15-year-old boy who was struck and killed by a train.

Meanwhile, authorities urge the public to obey warning signals such as lights and bells found in railroad crossings and practice more caution when crossing train intersections.
