REAR-END COLLISION: LAPD Officers Injured After Hit-and-Run; Suspects At Large
February 8, 2011
Los Angeles – At least two officers of the LA Police Department were injured when a motorist smashed into the back of their patrol car Tuesday evening, the LAPD said.
The accident happened around 9:30 am near Fairfax Boulevard and Whitworth Drive in the Mid-City area. The two suspects left their vehicle and fled the scene shortly on foot.
Both officers were sent to a hospital for treatment and evaluation of neck and back pains, according to Officer Sara Faden. One officer had been released while the other is still being treated Wednesday.
Police closed a large section around the scene while they searched for the suspects who remain at large as the search ended early Wednesday morning.
