CAR ACCIDENT: LAPD Officer Injured in Car Crash during Robbery Chase

Los Angeles - A Los Angeles police officer was injured after his car crashed during a robbery chase in Lawndale on Wednesday.

The police officer was chasing an armed robber at Marine Avenue and Hawthorne Boulevard when his patrol car swerved and crashed onto a tree at 10:30 p.m., reports said.

According to witnesses, the patrolman was stuck inside the car for 15 minutes after rescuers were able to pull him out. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Authorities are still investigating the details on the cause of accident.
