Vehicle Collision: LAPD officer hurt after colliding with SUV
July 19, 2010
Wilmington - An LAPD officer suffered an injury to the leg Monday after colliding with a sport utility vehicle.
According to authorities, the officer was traveling south on Avalon Boulevard when the SUV made a left turn in front of the officer’s cruiser at E Street.
The officer was unable to stop and eventually struck the SUV. The accident occurred around 3:30 p.m.
The officer and the 51-year-old woman driving the SUV were both sent to the hospital for treatment and examination. Their conditions have not been released.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Avalon Boulevard was closed for a while, but only caused a little traffic congestion in the area.
