LAFD Investigating Propane Tank Explosion in Pacoima
November 25, 2009
Pacoima – The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) is investigating the cause of a propane tank explosion in Pacoima that injured one man yesterday morning.
The accident was reported at about 7:43 am and occurred at a trucking business on the 1200 block of Montague Street, said an LAFD spokesman.
According to reports, a small propane tank exploded at the back of a forklift.
The explosion badly burned the face and hands of the 34-year-old fork lift driver.
The injured driver was quickly transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The degree of the man’s burns was not known at the moment, the LAFD spokesman said.
