VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Hit-and-Run Accident Killed Toddler

San Diego – A 19-year-old driver was arrested and charged with hit-and-run following a pedestrian accident that killed a 3-year-old toddler in Encanto.
According to San Diego Police, the boy was with his 12-year-old brother playing with their dog shortly afternoon in 6700 block of Madrone Avenue when the animal suddenly ran into the street.
As the elder boy tried to retrieve the dog, his younger brother followed into the street and was struck by a car.
The boy was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The 19-year-old driver was arrested after being interviewed by the police.
According to reports, the boy said that he “felt a thump” and stopped down the street before returning to the scene.
The San Diego Police has yet to release the identities of the driver and the victim.
