VEHICLE ACCIDENT: Gasoline Leak, Injuries Reported in Santa Ana Crash

April 26, 2011

Santa Ana–The Fire Department's Hazardous Materials team responded to a collision that caused a gasoline leak and injured at least two people in Santa Ana Friday morning, authorities said.

According to reports, a westbound vehicle driven by a man who appeared to be in his 70s ran a red light along First Street and collided with another vehicle on Cabrillo Park Drive.

The Chevy S-10 overturned and the driver’s arm got stuck underneath the vehicle. He and his female passenger were transported to a nearby hospital where their conditions stabilized.

The driver of the other vehicle, a Mazda B3000, appeared uninjured.

Authorities are yet to determine whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
