PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT: Fleeing Suspect Dies when Hit by Big Rig in Adelanto
September 9, 2010
Adelanto - A fleeing suspect died when he went out of his vehicle, leaped into the road, and was struck by a big rig along Route 18, about 100 yards east of Baldy Mesa Road.
Reports said the suspect Benjamin Ramsdell, from Baldy Mesa, was being chased by San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department deputies because he failed to report to his parole officer.
Ramsdell reportedly sped away in his car, but suddenly stopped and jumped into the road.
The big rig driver was not injured in the incident, said reports.
