MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT: Female Motorcyclist Killed after Colliding with Big Rig in Studio City

Studio City – The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of a motorcycle accident that killed a female motorcyclist on the westbound 101 Freeway in Studio City this morning.

According to the CHP, the crash happened a little before 7:30am when a motorcycle and a big rig truck collided just west of Laurel Canyon Boulevard.

The black motorcycle reportedly got dragged 100 feet down the pavement after getting wedged under the big rig.

The female motorcyclist, believed to be in her 20s, was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics.

The CHP closed off two lanes of the five lane freeway that resulted in heavy traffic along the westbound freeway.

The lanes were reopened after three and a half hours.
