SUV ACCIDENT: Elderly Injured in 710 Freeway SUV Crash
February 17, 2011
Long Beach - An elderly man suffered injuries after his sport-utility vehicle (SUV) over-careered onto the median border of 710 Freeway on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
The 50-year-old man was traversing south of Long Beach freeway near Del Amo Boulevard when he lost control on the wheels and crashed onto the center divider, according to California Highway Patrol reports.
Long Beach firefighters used the Jaws of Life to pull the driver out of the SUV. Paramedics rushed the elderly man to Long Beach Memorial Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
Authorities are investigating whether the rainy condition was a factor in the accident.
