VEHICLE COLLISION: Elderly Driver Runs Red Light, Dies when Broadsided by Pickup

Fresno - An 81-year-old male driver has died when he was broadsided by a pickup truck after running a red light along west of Highway 99, said reports.

The Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified the elderly driver as Jesus Gonzales, from Kingsburg.

According to California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers, Gonzales ran a red light along the intersection of Olive and Blythe Avenues. His northbound Honda Civic was then broadsided by a Ford F-250 being driver by Andy Ramirez, 80.

Reports said Ramirez was hospitalized to be treated for injuries.
