BICYCLE ACCIDENT: Elderly Bicyclist Fatally Hit by Truck in Carlsbad, Driver Flees Afterwards

Carlsbad- A 64-year-old bicyclist has died after being hit by a truck driver, who then fled the accident area, said reports.

According to authorities, the bicyclist identified as Arthur John Jacobs, from Vista died along Cassia and El Camino Real Roads.

Witnesses said the truck driver fled after crashing into bushes and a curb. Authorities located the bicycle along the area.

Meanwhile, other witnesses stated that the vehicle was located along an apartment complex near Tobria Terrance. When authorities arrived at the scene, they discovered that the driver was no longer inside the vehicle.

Reports said the driver was then seen hiring in bushes. The driver was identified as 23-year-old Julianne Elyse Thomson.

She was then put behind bars on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, felony hit-and-run, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs resulting in death.
