ROLLOVER ACCIDENT: Drunk Driver Involved in Hit-and-Run Killed
January 13, 2011
Bakersfield – The suspect in an early morning hit-and-run was killed after her vehicle overturned, the California Highway Patrol said.
Authorities said a 34-year-old woman was driving on State Route 119, with a 32-year-old passenger on board at around 3:30 am when it ran over someone but fled the scene, going northbound on the road.
For unknown reasons, the car left the roadway and rolled over several times, CHP officer Robert Rodriguez said. It came to rest on its wheels.
Rescuers who arrived on the scene found the driver dead. The passenger, on the other hand, suffered severe injuries and was taken to Ken Medical Center. CHP believed that the driver was drunk when the accident happened.
