Pomona - The police have filed charges of felony hit and run and driving without a license against 24-year old Tanya Bernal for hitting a nine-year old girl and dragging her under her car, reports said.
Reports said the incident occurred near the intersection of Garey Avenue and Phillips Boulevard. Police said the accident started when the female driver collided with another car but tried to flee and hit another car instead until it veered onto a sidewalk and struck the young girl who was walking.
The car stopped only after it slammed into a parked car as people rushed to pull the young girl out.
The young girl was later taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The erring motorist was arrested and locked up with a bail of $50,000.
