CAR ACCIDENT: Driver Survives Tragic Crash for Six Days
September 30, 2011
Castaic- A man has survived for six days after a car accident in Lake Hughes Road, according to reports.
Reports said David Lavau, 67 years old, was driving his car near the Angeles National Forest when he was involved in an accident. The car fell 200 feet down a cliff. Another vehicle was found at the crash scene. Police officers are yet investigating whether collision occurred.
Lavau sustained multiple bone fractures, but was able to care for himself in the forest for six days. Los Angeles rescuers and his family members conducted a search and found him within the vicinity of Warm Springs Mountain, reports said.
Reports said the other vehicle driver was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The family members of Lavau commented that they were able to locate David through his debit card information. They tracked David's purchase at a grocery store in the area.
Paramedics airlifted Lavau to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital for treatment.
