CAR ACCIDENT: Driver of Car Crash at OC Social Services Building Finally Arrested
January 25, 2012Orange County – The driver who crashed his car at a social services building Monday night was finally arrested Tuesday while inside the vehicle in-front of his home, reports said.
According to reports, Jesus Torres, Jr., 36, was found to have a history of domestic violence and vandalism. He was also believed to be the culprit behind a hit-and-run incident in another part of town.
The suspect has already entered the said building at 840 N. Eckhoff Street because of his domestic violence record.
Before 7:30 PM Monday, Torres, after ramming his green SUV into the building, was reported to have entered the building and left a package containing two vials of an unknown liquid substance. He later on returned to his vehicle and fled, reports said.
The fire alarm went off after the crash, prompting the bomb squad to respond to the scene, along with hazardous materials personnel due to the unknown substance left by Torres.
According to reports, the unknown liquid substance was found to be a non-hazardous mineral oil.
Torres was arrested primarily because of eyewitness statements and the deputies being able to acquire the license plate number of the green SUV.
