DUI-RELATED CAR ACCIDENT: Driver badly injured in suspected DUI accident in Menifee
May 19, 2010
Menifee – A driver suffered serious injuries Tuesday night after a suspected DUI car crash in Sherman Road, police said.
According to the Menifee Police Department, one of their patrol officers on Sherman Road saw a Chevrolet Camaro with its headlights turned off. The officer tried to stop the car but it drove off the road and rolled over on the railroad tracks.
Reports say the accident happened at about 9:15 p.m. near Highway 74.
The driver, who was not identified, was thrown from his vehicle and trapped under it. Firefighters freed the driver from the wreckage and took him to a hospital for treatment.
Temporary power interruption is expected to nearby residences as the car also hit a power pole support cable.
